Think of France

A couple more pics to 'entertain' you with.
The ceiling of Napoleon's apartment (right) -- elaborately beautiful: Josephine could have just lain back and thought of France.

What do you think the second photo is?

Scroll down for the answer.

Hee hee.

In the Louvre, touching sculptures is forbidden. I saw a Chinese-looking visitor leaning against the pedestal of a sculpture for his picture to be taken. Out of nowhere a museum officer came to tell him off.

Ha ha.

(Here's the answer: the view from right below a huge-ass chandelier in The Louvre.)

Beautiful hand painted ceilings.

They're not just hand-painted; they're also molded and gilded with gold leaf, etc.

The second picture I took because the view from under the chandelier fascinated me -- the middle looks like a giant pearl.

Yes, I could see the moldings and the golds. However, it was harder for me to see the middle of the chandelier. But, I can imagine how you feel, in awe with the beauty. I think I have to be there to fully appreciate the beauty.

The big round silvery glass thing in the middle is the bottom (middle) of the chandelier, Lee Ping. :-)
